Problem

Problem

The client wanted to explore a banking experience that could bring everyday financial activities into one place. Existing products I reviewed were often focused on separate banking tasks, making it harder to get a clear overview across cards, spending, payments, and savings.

Goal

Goal

The goal was to turn a broad written brief into a coherent mobile banking concept that combined cards, spending, transfers, savings goals, and separate accounts without making the product feel overloaded.

Results

Within 3 months, I turned the initial brief into a complete mobile banking concept with defined information architecture, core user flows, high-fidelity UI, and an interactive prototype. The final direction was approved by the client and prepared for presentation to potential investors.

My role

I owned the UX/UI concept from the initial brief to the final interactive prototype. I reviewed existing banking products, defined the information architecture and core flows, explored several visual directions, and designed the final mobile experience for the client presentation.

Structuring a broad financial product

The initial brief included many interconnected features — cards, accounts, payments, analytics, and savings goals. Without a clear structure, the product could quickly become difficult to navigate.

I grouped the experience around four core areas — accounts, cards, payments, and goals — and used them as the foundation for navigation and future flows. This gave each feature a clear place while leaving room for the product to grow.

Keeping onboarding simple while covering verification

The onboarding flow needed to get users into the product quickly while still accounting for identity verification required for banking services.

I kept the initial registration lightweight — phone number and PIN setup — and integrated KYC into the same guided flow instead of treating verification as a separate process.

The goal was to make a necessary compliance step feel like part of onboarding rather than an interruption.

Making everyday transfers more direct

For peer-to-peer transfers, I designed the flow around two common scenarios: sending money to an existing DohaPay user and requesting money from someone outside the platform.

Existing users could be selected directly from contacts, while a payment link provided an alternative when the recipient did not yet use DohaPay. This kept the main transfer flow short without limiting it to people already inside the ecosystem.
